Chair massage is a way of giving short fully clothed massage treatments.
The client sits on a specially designed massage chair and receives usually a 10-20 minute treatment.
Treatments involve, massage, acupressure work and stretches and usually focus on the upper back and shoulders. However, work on the arms, head and neck as well as the lower back is also common. A limited amount of work can be done on the legs and feet.
Chair massage is ideal for the office situation, events or when clients prefer to remain clothed and seated. It has similar benefits to oil based full body massage in that it may help in:
– Reducing stress and encouraging relaxation
– Assisting recovery from injuries
– Easing tired and aching muscles
– Addressing specific problems such as repetitive strain injury and carpal tunnel syndrome
